Upon reaching profile level 6, players gain access to their first medal slot and to the medals menu, in which they can view and select which medals they own to be displayed under their profile picture. A maximum of 3 medals can be displayed at any portrait at any given time, but the player is free to switch them around as they please. Medal slots are unlocked at profile levels 6, 15 and 25.
Medals come in three categories: Rare, Epic and Legendary, in order of rarity.

Rare medals
These medals can be identified by their blue tint.
- Rare Awesomenaut Medal - Unlocked upon winning 10 games with the corresponding 'naut.
- Rare Profile Medal - Unlocked upon reaching profile level 8.
- Rare collector Medal - Unlocked upon purchasing the Awesomenauts All Nauts Pack.
- Rare Alien Medal, 3rd Place - Unlocked for players who've reached 3rd place in the Alienware Awesomenauts Cup.
- Rare Gearlyfish Medal - Unlocked for Bot creators or honorable mentions in a mod contest.
Epic Medals
These medals can be identified by their green tint.
- Epic Awesomenauts Medal - Unlocked upon winning 40 games with the corresponding 'naut.
- Epic Profile Medal - Unlocked upon reaching profile level 20.
- Epic Vanguard Medal - Unlocked for players who played Awesomenauts before or during the free to play launch period.
- Epic Prestige Medal - Unlocked for players who have attained prestige levels 1 to 9 before the free to play announcement.
- Epic Alien Medal, 2nd Place - Unlocked for players who've reached 2nd place in the Alienware Awesomenauts Cup.
- Epic Gorilla Developer Medal - Players carrying this medal are Ronimo Games interns.
- Epic Interloper Medal - Unlocked for finalists in the 2015 create-a-naut contest.
- Epic Koala Medal - Unlocked for silver tier backers in the Awesomenauts: Starstorm crowdfunding campaign.
- Epic Ocutopus Medal - Unlocked for finalists in the 2012 create-a-naut contest.
Legendary medals
These medals can be identified by their golden tint.
- Legendary Awesomenauts Medal - Unlocked upon winning 100 games with the corresponding 'naut.
- Legendary Profile Medal - Unlocked upon reaching profile level 50.
- Legendary founder Medal - Unlocked for players who owned Awesomenauts before the free to play announcement.
- Legendary duck Medal - Unlocked for players who are considered community MVPs.
- Legendary Prestige 10 Medal - Unlocked for players who have attained prestige level 10 before the free to play announcement.
- Legendary Alien Medal, 1st Place - Unlocked for players who've reached 1st place in the Alienware Awesomenauts Cup.
- Legendary Interloper Medal - Unlocked for the grand winner of the 2015 create-a-naut contest.
- Legendary Koala Medal - Unlocked for plutonium or higher tier backers in the Awesomenauts: Starstorm crowdfunding campaign.
- Legendary Octopus Medal - Unlocked for the grand winner of the 2012 create-a-naut contest.
- Legendary Gorilla Developer Medal - Players carrying this medal are Ronimo Games developers.
